Spanish Night /Clínica Española

We offer free primary care services in a safe and private environment with Spanish-speaking physicians, medical students and translators. Other services include medication assistance, screening for HIV, and education and blood testing for patients who have diabetes.

We are open for Spanish Night every Monday at Gainesville Spanish Seventh Day Adventist Church. The address is 12909 NW 39th Ave, Gainesville, FL 32606. Appointment requests can be made online and walk-ins are welcome.

Nephrology Night

We provide additional testing and support for patients dealing with uncontrolled hypertension, uncontrolled diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and electrolyte imbalances. Additionally, we offer kidney ultrasounds as necessary. During these specialty sessions, a certified nutritionist is available to offer further advice and dietary recommendations. Our clinic operates bi-monthly (once every other month) depending on demand, with the provisional schedule for 2024 including sessions in May, July, September, and November.

LGBT Health Clinic

Cultivating a welcoming and comfortable environment for all members of the LGBT community. We offer STI screening, rapid HIV testing, Pap tests, and gender-affirming medical therapy while providing for many other screening and general healthcare needs. Our providers are trained and comfortable working with members of the LGBT community and will be welcoming to your healthcare concerns. The clinic is held on the first and third Tuesday of every month starting at 5:30pm at the Eastside Clinic. Feel free to make an appointment, but walk-ins are also welcome before 6:30pm.

Pediatric NightLogo

EACN has always been open to Pediatric patients and now we host a dedicated night where we can better serve this patient population! Pediatric Night will be every Wednesday night at Bartley Temple. We will offer services such as pediatric healthcare providers, school physicals, sports physicals, and primary care and well child check-ups. Patient sign up will be from 6:00-7:30pm and no appointment or referral is necessary. For more pediatric resources click here.

Gynecology Night

Gyn NightBasic gynecologic care including cervical cancer screening and STD testing is provided at this clinic. (Please note – we do not provide obstetric care at any of our clinic sites.) Physicians from the UF Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology volunteer at this clinic. This clinic is held on the first Thursday of every month starting at 6pm at the Main Street Clinic. Walk-ins are always welcome before 6:30pm.

Prenatal NightPrenatal Night Logo

Routine pregnancy/prenatal care including lab work, STD testing, genetic testing, pelvic exams, and ultrasound. Clinic staff will work with patients to establish Medicaid (if patient qualifies) and care at UF for delivery, supervised by senior physicians and chief residents from UF Obstetrics. This clinic is held periodically starting at 5:30pm at the Gainesville Main St Family Medicine Clinic. Patients must request an appointment or be referred from an outside physician. Free Therapy Night

Our clinic provides individual free mental health counseling for a wide variety of concerns, including (but not limited to) depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, insomnia, substance use, and family/relationship/occupational stress. Free Therapy Night aims to offer short-term treatment to adults who are uninsured or cannot otherwise afford psychotherapy. The clinic is run by master’s trained students and faculty in the PHHP department of clinical and health psychology and is tailored to your mental health needs and goals.

Dates and Times: Appointments only. Monday evenings at 5:30 & 6:30 p.m. (Excluding UF breaks and holidays)
Services offered: One 30-minute initial consultation and up to five, 50-minute free therapy sessions.

 

Eye Clinic

Appointments are required for this clinic so if you are interested, please call us at (352) 580-0393 at least 2 days prior to the date you want to attend. Our Eye Clinic is offered on the last Tuesday of every month at 6pm and located at HealthStreet, 2401 SW Archer Rd, Gainesville, FL 32608. Eye exams will be conducted at this clinic to test for diabetes, glaucoma, etc.

Physical Therapy Clinic

Our clinic is currently operating every Thursday from 5-8 offering both in-person and telehealth appointments. The clinic is run by physical therapy students under the supervision of certified therapists and offers evaluation and treatments for people with orthopedic, neurological, and cardiopulmonary diagnoses. Psychiatry Clinic Night

EACN is excited to offer psychiatric care including medication management and brief therapy services. We treat a variety of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, bipolar, and psychotic disorders. Medical and PA students run this clinic with on-site supervision by physicians from the UF Department of Psychiatry. This clinic is held on the fourth Tuesday of every month starting at 5:30pm at the Eastside Clinic as well as select Monday nights at 5:30pm at the Main Street Clinic (the dates of these clinics are the same as those of Prenatal Clinic night). Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are also welcome before 6:30pm.

 

Occupational Therapy Clinic

This clinic is open every Thursday from 6:00-8:00 PM, except during University of Florida academic breaks, at the Smart House in Oak Hammock on Williston Road. They also provide OT services virtually through Telehealth from 5:00-6:00PM biweekly on Thursdays. This clinic takes patients by appointment only. Please call (352) 273-6044 or e-mail us at OTEAC@chfm.ufl.edu and leave a message to make an appointment.

“Occupations” are all the important things you do during your day. Things like dressing, eating, cooking, and doing the things you love! Injuries, health problems, and getting older can keep a person from safely doing these things. The OT clinic is run by UF Occupational Therapy students and monitored by licensed occupational therapists. We can treat adults 18 and older who do not have insurance or whose occupational therapy insurance benefits have run out.

  • Stop at the security gate (left lane) and obtain a pass and a map to access the Oak Hammock Community.
  • After passing through the through the Security Gate House, the road will curve through the woods and you will come to a stop sign.

  • You’ll pass behind the main building on the left and some houses on the right. You’ll come to another stop sign at a “T” intersection.

  • Up ahead on the right will be the Smart House. Please park in the Smart House driveway.

Please park on the inclined driveway at the Smart House. Please do not park in resident spaces, fire lanes, on a street, in a driveway (except the Smart House), or any other marked space.

Dermatology Clinic

This clinic is scheduled by referral only. Please visit any of our primary care clinics to get a referral for care of dermatologic conditions.

This clinic takes place the second Tuesday of each month.

Cardiology Clinic

This clinic is scheduled by referral only. Please visit any of our primary care clinics to get a referral for care of heart conditions.

Dental Clinic

This clinic is currently not operating. We hope to reopen soon.

 

These are EACN Health Education Classes held at separate locations. Each class is focused on health education with a facilitator to help begin or continue progress. Call (352) 273-9425 for more information. Walk-ins always welcome!

Diabetes Education Classes

Our Diabetes Education class is offered on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month and held at the Main Street Clinic. Topics covered will include the following: blood sugar goals, what to do when you have high or low blood pressure, how and when to test your levels, and how to manage complications of the disease.

Tobacco Cessation Classes

Our Tobacco Cessation class is offered every 4th Wednesday at 6:00 pm at Gainesville Community Ministry, 238 SW 4th Ave, Gainesville, FL 32601. Patients take a 2-hour class discussing strategies for quitting and receive 2 weeks of free nicotine replacement (patches, lozenges, and/or gum). Patients can receive an additional 2 weeks of nicotine products after a follow-up call.

Social Work

Social Work can help patients who are having concerns with going hungry, housing stability, child or elder care, transportation, bills (e.g. utilities), finding/maintaining work, intimate partner violence, or other social situations. Social work is particularly helpful for mental health resources. Patients who need to apply to the Financial Assistance Program (FAP) can get help from the social work team with regard to the application process. Lastly, any patient seen by EACN is eligible to receive an appointment. Patient can also receive EACN Resource Guide at any of our primary care clinics.

We schedule patients for one-on-one counseling appointments with the Social Worker to discuss social needs on the following dates:

● First Tuesday of the month at Eastside

● Second Thursday of the month at Main Street
