Position Descriptions

Primary Care Clinic Director Positions

Locations: 7th Day Adventist, Eastside, Bartley Temple, and Main Street Clinics (4 positions available; one per site)


The Primary Care Clinic Director is responsible for overseeing and managing all clinical and administrative operations at their assigned clinic location on a weekly basis. This position requires a HIGHLY motivated and organized leader who can balance patient care responsibilities with operational management to ensure high-quality, equitable, and efficient service delivery.


Key Primary Care Clinic Director Clinical Responsibilities

  • Ensure patient care and medical records comply with healthcare regulations and best practices.
  • Verify that all medical notes are reviewed and signed by the appropriate providers.
  • Follow up on pending laboratory results and ensure appropriate documentation.
  • Foster strong relationships with patients by addressing their health concerns, needs, and feedback.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes.


Key Primary Care Clinic Director Administrative Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruiting, training, and onboarding new student volunteers.
  • Delegate and oversee coordinator responsibilities to ensure:
    • Laboratory orders are entered correctly.
    • Clinic supplies are adequately stocked.
    • The clinic tracker is updated and active.
    • Referrals and community resource connections are appropriately managed.
    • Overall clinic workflow and efficiency are optimized to maximize patient benefit.
  • Collaborate with attending physicians and the EACN Faculty Advisor to maintain compliance, uphold high standards of care, and promote evidence-based practices.
  • Attend monthly EACN Executive Board meetings to communicate updates and coordinate across clinics.


General Primary Care Clinic Director Information

  • Prior experience at the assigned clinic and/or within EACN is preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment and reliability are expected.
  • Previous leadership or strategic planning experience is recommended.
  • Familiarity with the Epic EMR system is recommended.

Site-Specific Primary Care Clinic Director Requirements

Specialty Night Director Positions

The Specialty Night Director is responsible for overseeing and managing all operations for their assigned specialty clinic. This position requires a dedicated leader who can balance both clinical and administrative duties to ensure efficient, high-quality, and patient-centered care.


General Specialty Night Director Responsibilities

  • Ensure patient care and medical records comply with healthcare regulations and best practices.
    • Verify that all provider notes are reviewed and signed.
    • Follow up on laboratory results or diagnostic testing as needed.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the site’s Primary Care Clinic Director to ensure efficient clinic flow.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and training of new student volunteers.
  • Delegate and oversee tasks assigned to coordinators, ensuring:
    • Proper entry and tracking of lab orders or tests
    • Adequate stocking of clinic supplies.
    • Real-time maintenance of the clinic tracker.
    • Timely referrals and linkage to community resources.
    • Smooth coordination between volunteers, providers, and patients.
  • Collaborate with attending physicians and the EACN Faculty Advisor to ensure compliance, continuity of care, and adherence to evidence-based clinical practices.
  • Attend monthly EACN Executive Board meetings to provide clinic updates and collaborate on operational planning.

Specific Specialty Night Director Positions


7th Day Adventist — Nephrology Night Director (1 position open)
The Nephrology Night Director will work closely with nephrology residents and faculty to coordinate clinic operations, including patient scheduling, volunteer assignments, supply management, and laboratory result follow-up. The Nephrology Night operates under the 7th Day Clinic. Eastside — LGBTQ+ Night Co-Directors (2 positions open)
LGBTQ+ Night Co-Directors will manage clinic operations focused on gender-affirming and LGBTQ+ care. Responsibilities include scheduling patients, coordinating student volunteers, ensuring culturally competent care, and maintaining close communication with supervising physicians and faculty. The LGBTQ+ Night operates under the Eastside Clinic. Eastside — Dermatology Night Co-Director (1 position open)
The Dermatology Night Co-Director will collaborate with dermatology residents and faculty to manage patient scheduling, supply ordering, biopsy result follow-up, and volunteer coordination. These clinics occur on the second Tuesday of each month at Eastside (410 NE Waldo Rd). Eastside and Main Street — Psychiatry Night Co-Directors (2 positions open)
Psychiatry Night Co-Directors will oversee mental health clinic operations, including scheduling patients, managing intake and follow-up, and coordinating between psychiatry residents, attending physicians, and student volunteers. Main Street — Prenatal Night Co-Director (1 position open)
The Prenatal Night Co-Director will assist OB/GYN residents and faculty in organizing patient visits, coordinating prenatal screenings, ordering supplies, and managing patient follow-up. You will be asked to communicate with the EACN Director of Finance regarding data and patient reports for the CAPP grant that supports Prenatal patient care. Executive Board Director Positions

General Executive Board — Admin-Focused Director Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and Director of Finance to maintain the structure, organization, and operational integrity of EACN.
  • Work with EACN Faculty Advisors to develop and implement protocols that ensure compliance, continuity of care, and adherence to evidence-based clinical practices.
  • Assist with the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new student volunteers.
  • Support EPIC EMR transitions and contribute to ongoing improvements in electronic documentation and workflow.
  • Attend monthly EACN Executive Board meetings to provide updates, discuss challenges, and collaborate on operational and strategic planning.

General Executive Board — Admin-Focused Director Information

  • Prior experience within EACN is preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment, reliability, and professionalism are expected.
  • Previous leadership or strategic planning experience is recommended.
  • Familiarity with the Epic EMR system is encouraged.

 
Director of Clinical Operations (1 position open)
The Director of Clinical Operations (DCO) oversees the REDCap database used for the EACN referral system and clinical data collection. The DCO is responsible for establishing, standardizing, and implementing protocols for the day-to-day functioning of all EACN clinics, ensuring seamless coordination between clinical and administrative teams. Key responsibilities include managing clinic workflows, optimizing patient throughput, monitoring compliance with institutional and regulatory standards, and leading quality improvement initiatives. The Director works closely with site directors and specialty night directors to troubleshoot operational issues, implement best practices, and maintain consistency across all clinic locations. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple clinical sites and teams effectively.   • Protocol Development & Workflow Management: Establish, implement, and standardize clinic workflows to optimize patient throughput, reduce bottlenecks, and ensure consistent operations across all sites.
  • Data Oversight & Quality Assurance: Maintain REDCap data accuracy, monitor data entry by student volunteers, and create reports for internal tracking, quality improvement initiatives, and executive decision-making.
  • Inter-Clinic Coordination: Collaborate with site directors and specialty night directors to align clinic operations, share best practices, and implement continuous improvements in patient care and workflow efficiency.
  • Quality Improvement: Use REDCap and clinic data to identify trends, inefficiencies, or gaps in care; lead initiatives to enhance clinic performance, patient satisfaction, and data-driven decision-making.


Administrative Director (1 position open)
The Administrative Director is responsible for maintaining and strengthening the organizational infrastructure of volunteers and staff to ensure compliance and efficiency during the Epic EMR transition. This includes developing, standardizing, and implementing documentation systems, internal communication channels, scheduling protocols, and inter-clinic coordination processes to support smooth operations across all sites. The Administrative Director serves as a key liaison between the Executive Board, clinic coordinators, and student volunteers to ensure consistent information flow, adherence to updated Epic workflows, and continuity in administrative processes. This role requires excellent project management, communication, and organizational skills, with a proactive approach to ensuring compliance, operational efficiency, and successful Epic EMR implementation.   • Epic EMR Transition Leadership: Develop and implement administrative workflows within Epic to standardize patient intake, documentation, referral tracking, and inter-clinic communication. Ensure all staff and student volunteers are trained and credentialed in Epic EMR usage.
  • Documentation & Policy Management: Create, standardize, and maintain internal documentation, SOPs, and communication templates to align all clinics with updated Epic workflows and institutional compliance standards.
  • Coordination: Oversee volunteers and staff coordinating across sites to ensure adequate coverage and operational continuity.
  • Inter-Clinic Communication: Serve as a liaison between the Executive Board, clinic coordinators, and site leadership teams to ensure consistent information flow, adherence to updated processes, and alignment of operational practices across all sites.


Director of Media (2 positions open)
The Director(s) of Media oversee all aspects of EACN’s external communications, branding, and engagement. This role ensures that the organization’s mission, clinic events, and volunteer achievements are communicated clearly, professionally, and consistently across multiple platforms. The Directors also play a key role in supporting volunteer recruitment, student engagement, and leadership initiatives.   • Volunteer Sign-up Sheet Management: Develop and maintain tools for volunteer sign-ups, ensuring clinic dates are accurately posted and accessible to all students.
  • Student Volunteer Recruitment: Implement strategies to recruit and retain volunteers while coordinating with UF COM academic schedules to minimize conflicts with exams and mandatory attendance requirements.
  • EACN Websites and Social Media: Maintain and update all EACN websites and social media accounts, ensuring accurate clinic locations, schedules, and announcements are communicated to students, volunteers, and patients.
  • Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with the Executive Board, clinic leadership, and student volunteers to plan and execute media coverage for events, campaigns, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Leadership Application Organization: Assist in organizing and managing EACN leadership applications, promoting opportunities to students, and coordinating communication with applicants.
  • New Initiative – EACN Newsletters: Lead the creation and distribution of a monthly EACN newsletter, providing updates on clinic activities, volunteer achievements, and relevant information for UF COM students and faculty.

 
Director of Physician Recruitment (1 position open)
The Director of Physician Recruitment is responsible for ensuring that all four EACN clinic sites are consistently staffed with qualified volunteer physicians and advanced practice providers. This leadership role focuses on recruitment, onboarding, retention, and recognition of clinical volunteers, while maintaining compliance with regulatory and institutional requirements.   • Volunteer Recruitment & Retention: Identify, recruit, and maintain relationships with physicians and advanced practice providers to ensure adequate weekly coverage at all EACN sites. Develop strategies to engage and retain volunteers for sustained participation.
  • Credentialing & Compliance: Coordinate malpractice and sovereign immunity coverage through the Department of Health. Ensure all providers are properly credentialed and meet institutional and legal standards for participation.
  • Scheduling & Coverage Management: Work closely with site-specific Physician Recruitment Officers to confirm weekly clinic staffing, address coverage gaps, and optimize provider allocation across multiple sites.
  • Onboarding & Training Support: Guide new physician volunteers through onboarding processes, provide orientation to clinic workflows, and ensure familiarity with documentation and patient care protocols.
  • Provider Recognition & Engagement: Plan and execute the annual Provider Appreciation Reception and other initiatives to recognize, celebrate, and engage EACN volunteers.
  • New Initiative – Newsletter Collaboration: Work with the Director of Media to contribute content for the physician section of the EACN newsletter, highlighting volunteer achievements, provider spotlights, and clinical updates.
