Responsibilities include overseeing nephrology referrals, ensuring nephrology protocols are current, managing Nephrology Night activities, and following up with patients after their clinic visits. Additionally, the Nephrology Officer provides support for general clinic operations when needed. This position is best suited for a rising 3rd year interested in internal/family medicine.

Bartley Temple Clinic: Clinic Officers

Bartley Temple officer is responsible for attending clinic each week from beginning to end. This involves setting up the clinic, managing the patient tracker, helping volunteers with patients, educating volunteers on community resources, etc. There is an additional responsibility outside of the clinic that will be approximately 1 hour each week that can be completed remotely.

Bartley Temple Clinic: Senior Operations Officer

Ideally this is a student who has at least a year’s experience in a clinic officer role. This position would entail assisting the Bartley Temple clinic director in completing tasks, participating in clinic duties when needed, following up on all patient notes, and coordinating the annual back-to-school health fair. You must be a rising MS3 or MS4.

Eastside Clinic: Senior Operations Officer

The senior operations officer, senior LGBT officer, and clinic director take turns overseeing our weekly clinics such that there is always at least one senior officer present. This means attending clinic 1-3 times per month and providing a supervisory role for the junior officers, e.g. answering questions to which junior officers may not know the answer or handling difficult or complicated patients if needed. Outside of clinic, the senior officers take turns reviewing patient lab results. Ideally, you will have already served as a junior officer at Eastside to apply for this position. You must be a rising MS3 or MS4. There will be 2 senior operations officers.

Eastside Clinic: Clinic Officer

The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure smooth clinic flow. This involves arriving between 5:00 and 5:30 to set up for clinic, assigning volunteers to patients, pairing volunteers with physicians, answering questions as they come up over the course of the evening, and cleaning up at the end. At Eastside, the first and third Tuesdays of the month are LGBT Night, and the second and fourth are general primary care. Junior operations officers staff both clinics. As there will be 5-6 junior operations officers in total, the expectation is to staff 2-3 clinics per month. Additionally, each officer will be assigned one role from the following: volunteer recruitment (making sure we have enough volunteers each week, sending the weekly welcome email, and making sure notes are finished after each clinic); physician recruitment (scheduling residents and attendings to staff with us); referrals (placing referrals for patients to organizations like We Care); and supplies (keeping an inventory of our supply closet and making sure we are stocked). We will discuss these roles with you and assign them after you have been selected – there is no separate application. This position is traditionally for rising MS2s, but others will be considered.

Eastside Clinic: Senior LGBT officer

This position is similar to that of the senior operations officer in regard to supervising clinic 1-3 times per month and taking turns reviewing lab work. In addition, the senior LGBT officer coordinates a semiannual meeting with one of our attendings to review all patients on gender-affirming therapy and may participate in outreach events, such as tabling, as they are able. There will be 2 senior LGBT officers.

Eastside Clinic: Junior LGBT officer

The primary responsibility of this position is similar to the general clinic officer (see above) in regard to managing clinic flow. However, you will also need to be familiar with the gender-affirming therapy protocol (i.e. estrogen and testosterone for trans patients) in order to counsel patients and to assist students and physicians who may not be familiar with it. Similar to how the junior operations officers have an additional role, the junior LGBT officer will also be responsible for reviewing patient lab results every week. There will be 2 junior LGBT officers. This position is traditionally for rising MS2s, but others will be considered.

Main Street Clinic: Senior Operations Officer

The Main Street Senior Operations Officer position is essentially serving as the onsite coordinator for all Main St officers. The Senior Operations Officer works closely with the Main St leadership and other specialty night officers (GYN, Cardiology, MOC Ultrasound, HOQI, etc) to ensure clinic operations run smoothly.
