Equal Access Clinic Network is pleased to open Executive Board positions to our medical student volunteers!

Our officers and directors are invaluable members to our team as they are our first line responders to a patient population often unfunded/uninsured and left without recourse. Our patients rely on these student leaders to keep clinic open and flowing smoothly providing a seamless experience from start to finish. This unique experience truly allows you the opportunity to positively impact someone’s life by caring for their health and well-being. Application is DUE at February 20th @ Midnight!

  • EACN Executive Director

    The Executive Director oversees operations across the Equal Access Clinic Network. This individual is responsible for coordinating communication between clinics, improving care quality across the network, and ensuring the long term sustainability of the clinics. The Executive Director works closely with the Finance Director to allocate resources and fund the clinic network through charitable gifts and grants. This position is usually held for two years to maintain institutional memory for the organization after a 4-6 month transition period.     Physician Recruitment Director
    The ​Director of Physician Recruitment works to insure that all clinic sites are able to provide quality care by maintaining a consistent pool of physician volunteers. Typical duties in this position include coordinating regularly with Clinic Operations Coordinators at each of the four clinic sites and reaching out to faculty throughout the UF-Shands network to identify and recruit physician volunteers. This is a relatively new position with room for creativity. For any questions about this position please contact Rubab Islam (rubabislam@ufl.edu).

    Director of Language Services
    The Director of Language Services collaborates with network leadership to identify and address deficits in patient care related to language and cultural competency barriers. This officer is responsible for ensuring that in-person and remote interpretative services are available throughout the clinic network (primary care and specialty clinic sites), and that all documentation is available in a format that is understandable to patients. Additionally, this officer is responsible for overseeing the biannual undergraduate (HOQI) interpretation training and works closely with the Spanish Night Coordinators and community advocates to support outreach to non-English speaking populations in Alachua County. This position is supported by a PA counterpart, the PA Spanish-Services Coordinator, who assists specifically with matters related to native Spanish speakers. This position is relatively new, and is constantly evolving to best suit the needs of the community, allowing for substantial creativity and forward-thinking.
