Equal Access 2019 Officer Application Open!

Published: December 21st, 2018

Category: Student Officers

Equal Access Clinic Network is pleased to open the second round of officer applications for our Medical & PA student volunteers! Given that this is our second round of applications, we’re mainly looking for PA student officers to apply to the Clinic Coordinator Positions. Main Street is ONLY accepting Medical Student applications! Officer positions are typically best for first-year students looking to get more involved in the greater Gainesville community and begin putting those newly learned medical skills to good use.

Our officers are invaluable members to our team as they are our first line responders to a patient population often unfunded/uninsured and left without recourse. Our patients rely on these officers to keep clinic open and flowing smoothly providing a seamless experience from start to finish. This unique experience truly allows you the opportunity to positively impact someone’s life by caring for their health and well-being. Application is DUE on January 11th @ Midnight!

Please contact our External Affairs Director, Ciara Styles, at cmonet2013@ufl.edu if you have any questions.

EACN Spring 2019 Officer Application

  • Position Descriptions

  • Clinic Operations Coordinator

These officers are tasked with running the Primary Care clinics. This position requires frequent attendance at the assigned clinic site. A wide range of tasks are needed including managing overall clinic flow, instructing new student volunteers on clinic procedures, collaborating with undergraduate (HOQI) volunteers, aiding students with the referral process, clinic documentation, clinic set up/clean up, ordering clinic supplies and any other tasks that need to be completed for clinic to run smoothly. Weekly schedule is as follows: Anthem - Mondays, Eastside - Tuesdays, Bartley Temple - Wednesdays, and Main Street - Thursdays.

Please be aware: We have a number of specialty nights located at our primary care sites and each clinic has decided to designate one of the coordinators to also run the speciality night. If you’re interested in taking on the additional role of running the specialty night, let us know in your application!

Anthem Church hosts Spanish Night, Eastside hosts LGBTQ Night and Bartley Temple hosts Pediatrics Night.

Selection of Women’s Clinic Officers occurs independently of the Main Street primary clinic officer selection, and individuals interested in those positions should rank them as such.
  • Women’s Clinic Coordinator

Women’s Night is held the first Thursday of every month at Main St. Clinic. We are looking for two officers to handle all of the duties required of the Women’s Night clinic and working with our team on any new initiatives to expand the women’s health services provided by our clinic. These include but are not limited to: attendance at Women’s Night, communicating/coordinating with the Women’s Night attending, inputing lab results to database and keeping in contact with patients about their results and follow up, driving test specimens to the lab (~10 minutes away) the next morning. This position is perfect for anyone considering Women’s Health as a career. Operating under the “Main St. umbrella,” we expect officers to complete some cross-training of regular clinic duties.
  • Grants Coordinator

This officer position was created to ensure that the Equal Access Clinic continues to be funded. We are currently supported by two major grants and are looking for additional major sources of funding to provide our patients improved care. The Grants Coordinator will work closely with the executive director and finance director to submit new grant applications and coordinate updates for current funding sources. Last year, our Grants Coordinator was responsible for securing over $80,000 in grant funding that allowed us to purchase a reliable internet connection, and an ultrasound. Next year we plan to apply for over $150,000 over a three year period. We would love to have your support in this role.
