Equal Access Clinic

First Time Volunteers

Here is some information about clinic so you can get the most out of EAC.  If you can no longer make it this week, please let your class know that a spot has opened up.  Clinic starts at 6:00 pm on Thursday nights and 5:30 pm on Tuesday nights, dress professionally (ties for guys) and don’t forget a stethoscope.  View Maps to Clinic

There will be two student officers in charge of running clinic.  They’lll be there to answer any questions you may have.

While you might feel overwhelmed at first, we want to encourage you to do as much as you feel comfortable with.  This includes the history, physical exams, writeup and presentation.  While the schedule will be explained in more detail at clinic, just as a heads up, the general schedule for clinic is as follows:
- Premeds will perform patient intake and bring the charts in as they finish
- You’ll go visit your patient and perform an History and Physical with a 2nd to 4th year medical student
- Next the case is written up while you wait to present to a resident/attending
- After presentation to a doctor, the doctor and students head back to see the patient together
- Wrap up your notes, forms, etc
